Hello travellers

I answer to ‘peaceful’ as I came to a turning point in my life near the end of 2010.

I created a Facebook profile page Peaceful Inhabitant and very soon I was being called and answering to ‘peaceful’, I have been known and answer to ‘peaceful’ since then, also since 2010 I have not been eating meat or dairy, because ….

At the same time I watched a documentary called ‘Earthlings’ that had such a very profound effect upon me as I made the decision to stop eating meat half way through viewing this movie.

Thus I became a so called ‘vegan’ and/or ‘vegetarian’ eating a plant food only diet, which I prefer to call eating live foods, and do my best to eat many raw foods. I guess this all became the peaceful path that I began, learning to be peaceful, do things the peaceful way and stay on the peaceful path.

As I like meditation, interested in yoga, passion for photography, cooking, enjoy composting/gardening and I like much of the Buddhist philosophy relating to peace, love, suffering, karma and all those great messages making sense to me. But as far as any organised religion I am not into any of them, personally I believe they do more harm than good and just a way to control the masses.

Then near the beginning of 2013 I was at an airport leaving Canada to head to Lima, Peru. This was the first time for me to ever leave the country long term besides short visits into the United States.

I actually celebrated my 50th birthday in Cusco, Peru (Ollantaytambo) where I stayed for two months then headed to northern Peru (Los Organos) for another two months, then crossed into Ecuador (Vilcabamba, Banos and Tena) for a seven month visit.

So for my first travel experience which got me hooked on travelling more and exploring the world…..I was out of Canada for a total of eleven months, between Apr. of 2013 – Mar. of 2014.

Now I left Canada again in mid Oct. of 2016 and the first country to visit was Japan: Tokyo and Hiroshima, next Seoul, Korea, then Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, back to Malaysia, Lake Toba, Indonesia which I enjoyed very much, Singapore, and again in Indonesia to Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali and Lombok. I then travelled back through Malaysia to Thailand, then onto Vietnam. Now Vietnam I stayed 3 months from the north, central, coast to the South, teaching English along the way. I enjoyed Vietnam very much. Now I am back in Vilcabamba Ecuador again, since Dec. of 2017.

For the most part I like to travel alone and I do, as I stay and go where I choose and when.
For me travelling is exciting, adventurous, and I learn so much, and have the most freedom and peace when I am travelling.
I am very content for the most part as I travel, as I feel safe, enjoy meeting people and becoming friends, learning languages and new cultures and I do adapt.

So let me do the best I can to help and share with you, some valuable information, tips, places to stay or avoid, cautionary messages and entertain you with humour and images of the things I have viewed, learned or experienced.
